Church of the Messiah (first) is dedicated.

Architect: Joseph Billings. The church is located on Florence Street. The congregation was established in September 1843. George Randall is the first minister. A new church (second) is built in the Fenway in 1892,* and the current church (third) in 1928.* The original building becomes Our Lady of Pompeii Church in 1892.*
